Welcome to Ealing LETS
What are LETS?
Local Exchange Trading Schemes are a way for people to exchange their
time and skills with each other using a local currency (Ealing LETS
uses "Eals") with the aim of encouraging mutual help in the community as well as
creating an "alternative economy" based on responding to each others' needs.

How do LETS work?
Members identify skills
they wish to offer and their current requirements for goods and
services, which are listed and circulated in a directory displayed
on the website.
Members contact each other directly, arrange a trade
amongst themselves and agree a price in LETS credits known as Eals
Once the job is done, the Eals exchange may be recorded on paper
to be transferred online later.
Social and trading events take place, often hosted by individual
members, where members can visit stalls, get to know each other
and discover new opportunities for trading.
Ealing LETS is managed by an elected committee, called the
Core Group, who share the tasks between them of arranging events,
keeping in touch with members, and providing support where needed.
Ealing LETS is non-sterling, interest-free and debt free
a local skill-sharing pool an enriching, supportive
network
a cash-saving resource bank for charities and organisations
